Classrooms For Students with Emotional Disabilities

EMOTIONAL DISABILITIES (ED) PROGRAM

The Preble County ESC offers educational services for students with emotional disabilities, from elementary school through high school. Currently, we operate four ED classrooms on behalf of four Preble County School Districts. These classrooms are located at The ESC Alternative at 201 E. St. Clair Street in Eaton. This program is intended for students who have been identified with a Severe Emotional Disturbance or exhibit behavior that severely limits their ability to learn and grow in a traditional education environment.

Our ED Classrooms Offer:

  • Structure
  • Behavioral Modeling
  • Social Skills Training
  • Mental Health Counseling
  • Individualized Academic Instruction

All Staff are highly skilled and trained in behavioral interventions including Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Techniques. There is a focus on respect and trust between student and teacher with very low restraint discipline.

The goal of this program is to offer students the opportunity to transition back into the regular education classroom setting after having learned strategies of behavioral control that will enable them to be successful.
