Sneak Peek:

Why should teachers and parents learn about Conscious Discipline?

The ultimate goal of Conscious Discipline is for teachers to possess each of the seven Powers of Conscious Discipline so they can teach the skills to their students.  The tools and strategies are the “how” we teach the skill. In Conscious Discipline, there are seven powers with seven skills. Each skill will have different strategies to incorporate.

The first power that we talk about is the Power of Perception which teaches the Skill of Composure along with breathing strategies.

Some commons scripts you may hear in classrooms that are teaching the Skills of Composure are:

“No one can make you angry without your permission.”

Think: “I am safe, I can handle this, breathe…”

Teach by first thinking then saying to children: “You’re safe, breathe with me. You can handle this.”
